Kokaistudios is an award winning architecture and interior design firm founded in 2000 in Venice by Italian architects Filippo Gabbiani & Andrea Destefanis.

Headquartered in Shanghai since 2002 we have grown into multi-cultural firm of 60 people working on a global scale with projects in Asia, the Middle East, Europe and North America. Kokaistudios partners with our clients to collaboratively develop innovative & ground breaking projects in diverse fields of design.

Primarily focused on developing cultural, corporate, commercial, hospitality & retail projects we have also worked extensively on urban regeneration projects involving the requalification of heritage locations.

Kokaistudios aims to develop projects that add positively to the built environment and social fabric of the cities and countries in which they are located.

Located on one of Shanghai’s most beautiful historical streets, our working space stands as a physical testament to one of Kokaistudios’ core beliefs and areas of practice; namely the requalification of existing spaces and bringing back to life environment in innovative ways.

From our peacefully inspiring office our teams work daily to continue to achieve our original dream of creating a Shanghai based firm with a strong local management & design team able to conceive and develop projects that add positively to the built environment, social fabric and design environment of China and the world.

As a firm active is many fields of design we have attracted a multi-cultural group of passionate and talented architects and designers who are all “thinking minds” that work together to drive the creation of innovative projects.

With our strategic focus on only taking projects where we can fully apply our design vision to create interesting and important projects we have created a platform for our teams to learn and grow and be at the forefront of the design environment in China while working in a supportive and friendly environment.
