September 28th, Kokaistudios recent renovation project Shimao Festival City has made its grand opening. The building is located in between East Nanjing Road and People’s Square, which is the most significant symbol of Shanghai.
Kokaistudios gave the concept of "theatre" to return architecture to urban public life. Then with the "theater" and "theatre auditorium" "theater foyer" "backstage" of different attribute space integration and division, the design blurred the boundary between traditional shopping and modern public lifestyle and created an open gesture to welcome people wander freely and explore.
